Twitter and X symbols
These are the twitter symbols people actually use on X: click any card to copy it, then paste it into a post, your display name or your bio. The collection starts with the platform’s own marks — the copyable 𝕏 character, the legacy bird, the check and the hashtag — then the decorative tweet symbols for bios: stars, hearts, arrows, ornate brackets and the dividers that keep a 160-character bio readable. Below the grids: ready-made bio lines, the exact rules for which profile fields accept symbols (and which refuse them), and the honest limitations before you style your whole name.
The 𝕏 character: the X logo as copyable text is a maths character — MATHEMATICAL DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL X, U+1D54F (HTML 𝕏). It is not X’s official logo artwork, but as text it works anywhere Unicode does: names, bios, posts, even other apps.
X marks and platform symbols
Two cautions hide in this grid. The bird 🐦 and the blue heart 💙 are nostalgia now — they were the old Twitter brand colours before the 2023 rebrand to X. And the ✓ card is an ordinary text check mark: it is not the X verification badge, and using it in a display name to look verified can get an account flagged for impersonation.

Dividers and brackets
Dividers do the quiet work in a bio: “writer │ london │ DM open” reads in one glance because the bars separate the facts. The ornate brackets (꧁ ꧂, ༺ ༻) frame a name or a single word — use one pair per profile, not five.
Ready-made bio lines — copy the whole line
Each card copies the full line, symbols included. Swap the words, keep the structure — and count your characters: an X bio allows 160, and every symbol counts as one.
Which X fields accept symbols?
| Field | Symbols? | Limit / rule |
|---|---|---|
| Display name | Yes — Unicode and emoji | Up to 50 characters; cannot imitate a verified badge or another person |
| Username (@handle) | No | Letters, numbers and underscores only; max 15 characters |
| Bio | Yes | Up to 160 characters |
| Posts | Yes | 280 characters on standard accounts; symbols count as characters |
| Location / website | Plain text best | Symbols render inconsistently here — keep them clean |
Limitations — read this before styling your name
Search breaks. A display name written in mathematical letters (𝕵𝖔𝖍𝖓) is not the text “John” to X’s search — people who type your real name may not find you. Keep at least your bio in plain, searchable words.
Screen readers struggle. Assistive technology reads mathematical alphanumeric characters letter-by-letter or skips them, so a fully stylised name can be meaningless to blind followers. One symbol as decoration is fine; a whole name as a puzzle is not.
Some screens show boxes. Older devices and a few desktop fonts lack these characters and display □ (tofu) instead. The grids above favour widely-supported characters, but test your bio on a second device.
Moderation is real. Symbols that mimic verification, staff or another account invite enforcement. Decorate — do not impersonate.
How to add symbols on any device
Fastest: click a card here, then paste (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V / long-press → Paste) into X.
Windows: Windows key + . opens the emoji and symbol picker.
Mac: Control + Command + Space opens the Character Viewer.
Phone: the emoji keyboard covers emoji like 🐦 and 💙; the text symbols (✦ │ ꧁) come from copy and paste — X’s own keyboard does not offer them.

For fully styled names, the font generator converts whole words into scripts and outlines; the aesthetic symbols collection is the bigger decorative library, and the emoji hub covers the picture side of a bio.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put symbols in my X username?
No. Usernames (your @handle) accept only letters, numbers and underscores, up to 15 characters. Symbols belong in the display name, bio and posts — which is where every card on this page is meant to be used.
Is 𝕏 the official X logo?
It is the closest copyable character: Unicode’s mathematical double-struck capital X (U+1D54F). The official logo is artwork, not a font character — but 𝕏 pastes as text everywhere and reads instantly as the X mark.
Why can’t people find my profile by searching my name?
Probably your display name: stylised mathematical letters are different characters from plain letters, so search for the plain spelling misses them. Put your real name or keywords in plain text in your bio as well.
How many characters can an X bio have?
160 characters, and symbols each count as one character. The ready-made lines above are built to fit with room to spare.
Can I use ✓ in my display name?
You can paste the text character, but it will not make you verified — and presenting it as if it does risks an impersonation report. Use ✓ as a list marker in posts instead, where it simply means “done”.
