Zodiac symbols with dates, elements and ruling planets
These are the commonly used tropical zodiac date ranges. If your birthday falls on the first or last day of a range, check the exact year — the Sun changes sign at slightly different times each year, which is why “cusp” birthdays are sometimes listed under either neighbour sign.

Two date questions come up again and again. The March zodiac symbol depends on the day: birthdays from March 1–20 are Pisces ♓, and March 21 onwards is Aries ♈. The zodiac symbol December question works the same way: December 1–21 is the Sagittarius symbol ♐, and December 22 onwards is the Capricorn symbol ♑. The same logic applies to every month — find your date in the table and the sign in that row is yours. Astrologers read the astrology Aquarius symbol ♒, for instance, as the water bearer, even though Aquarius is an air sign — the glyph shows waves of water (or air currents), a reminder that a sign’s picture and its element are not always the same thing.

Step 3: Paste it where you need it — Ctrl+V on Windows, Cmd+V on a Mac, or long-press and Paste on a phone.
To type a sign instead: on Windows, open the symbol picker with Windows key + . (period) and search the sign name; on a Mac, open the Character Viewer with Control + Command + Space. On phones, the emoji keyboard carries the 12 signs as emojis — search “Aries”, “Taurus” and so on. Note the difference: the emoji versions (like ♈ shown in colour) are the same Unicode characters with an emoji presentation, while the plain text style (♈︎) uses a variation selector — both paste from this page as the standard character.

Zodiac symbols vs Sabian symbols
These are two different systems that share a name. Zodiac symbols (this page) are the 12 sign glyphs — ♈ ♉ ♊ and the rest — used for copying into text. Sabian symbols are a set of 360 short symbolic images, one for each degree of the zodiac, created in 1925 for interpreting birth charts. If you need a degree image rather than a sign glyph, a Sabian reference or calculator is the right tool; if you need the glyph itself, copy it from the grid above.

What is Ophiuchus ⛎?
Ophiuchus is a real constellation the Sun passes through, sometimes called the 13th sign. It has its own Unicode symbol (U+26CE) and is included in the grid, but it is not part of the standard 12-sign zodiac used in horoscopes.
Do zodiac date ranges change?
The printed ranges are conventions. The exact moment the Sun enters a sign shifts by hours from year to year, so a birthday on a boundary (“cusp”) day can belong to either sign depending on the year and time of birth.
